Tay Township continued its commitment to local healthcare at its July Council meeting, presenting a $25,000 donation to Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation. The donation is the third installment of a total of $100,000 committed to local healthcare during this council term.

Executive Director of Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation Nicole Kraftscik was able to virtually join the meeting “Funds from our community partners, like Tay Township, are the difference between a good hospital and a great hospital. This generous donation to the Foundation’s Impact Fund will help to address Georgian Bay General Hospital’s most urgent capital priorities, which this year will include replacing the Central Monitoring System for the ICU, purchasing new defibrillators and crash carts, and upgrading to a completely digital patient medical record across the organization.”

Mayor Walker took time to express his appreciation on behalf of all council members and residents of Tay Township “we wouldn’t have been able to get through this pandemic without you and your amazing team. Thank you to all of those on the frontline, the board and the foundation. You are the true heroes and we are so thankful to have you as part of our community.”

To date, Tay Township’s lifetime giving total to Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation is $368,476. For more information on upcoming projects at Georgian Bay General Hospital please visit www.gbghf.ca.
