Highlights from the Township of Tiny Community BBQ

Township of Tiny

On Saturday, July 23, 2022, The Township of Tiny hosted its annual Community BBQ event after a 2-year hiatus! Permanent and seasonal residents of the Township enjoyed a barbeque lunch, and local live music, and included fun for all ages. The theme for the day was “Celebrating ‘Tiny’ Heroes” and highlighted all of our pandemic heroes. Jam-packed with a Family Fun Zone inclusive of a fortune teller, inflatable obstacle course, bouncy castle, face painting, fire trucks, magician, and lawn games. Residents enjoyed a workshop from Kate Harries featuring tips on becoming a pollinator expert.

Mayor George Cornell, Members of Council, and Shelly Cadel, Founder of Bee City Canada kicked off the festivities with an official ribbon cutting of six fruit trees in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The official cheque presentations were presented to the recipients of the proceeds from the Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament. The main stage welcomed a total of 17 local non-for-profit charitable organizations from North Simcoe.

Thank you to all of the local sponsors, volunteers, and local exhibitors for attending the 2022 Township of Tiny Community BBQ.
