On Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 1:45 p.m., the County of Simcoe and Tourism Simcoe County are pleased to welcome representatives from the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail and Great Waterfront Trail Adventure (GWTA) riders as we celebrate the launch of a new connecting trail system in Simcoe County.

Media and residents are invited to cheer riders on as they depart Penetanguishene during their 500 kilometre tour of the region as part of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.​

When: Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 1:45 p.m.
About: Join dignitaries as they celebrate the connection of the Simcoe County Loop with the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail in the County of Simcoe. Cyclists on the 2022 GWTA, who range in age from 31 to 83, will ride the Simcoe County trail system including the Thunder Beach Loop, Big Chute Loop, and Simcoe County Loop over six days, travelling between 30 to 90 km daily at their own pace.
