Government launches website to assist Simcoe North businesses through pandemic

Simcoe North MPP Jill Dunlop is promoting a new website to help local small and medium-sized businesses through the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The website, reliefwithinreach.ca, is a “one-stop shop” that offers businesses owners access to various government pandemic-relief programs and supports.

“Making small business owners aware of what is available is a problem,” said Dunlop. “This new site will allow businesses to access up-to-date information, and potential funds, at the click of a button.”

The site contains links to property-tax and energy-bill rebates, information on emergency business loans, rent subsidy programs and other relief and recovery programs, and rebates on personal protective equipment.

Eligibility requirements for the recently announced Ontario Small Business Support Grant are also available on the site. The provincial government is offering up to $20,000 to businesses that have been hit hard by the pandemic and experienced at least a 20 per cent decline in revenue.

There is also information on federal funding programs, as well as mental health and wellness supports.
