The Township of Tiny has partnered with the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) to collect the latest detailed information relating to internet speeds accessed by local residents and businesses within Tiny.

Through this partnership the Township is providing access to CIRA’s Internet Performance Test, which can be used on any kind of device without needing to download additional applications.

The test operates independently from any major internet service provider network, which provides users with an overview of how their internet connection performs in real-world conditions.

When this test is conducted, residents are helping to demonstrate the need for and the impact of improved broadband infrastructure throughout the Township. Not only will conducting the speed test provide users with real time results about internet connection performance, it also provides the Township with valuable metrics.

Test results will be used to share with service providers, funding agencies and other stakeholders interested in improving the digital landscape in the Township of Tiny. Your personal information will not be shared or saved by the Township or survey provider.

For more information on conducting the speed test, please visit the Township of Tiny web page “How to do a Speed Test.”

For residents who do not have access to internet, the Township of Tiny still wants to hear from you. Please call the Township of Tiny offices at 705 526-4204, ext 409, and leave your name and 911 address on the voicemail, so we can log your location as unserved.

Alternatively, residents can provide their information using the internet performance tool link when they are in a location which provides access to the internet.

The Township encourages residents to visit the broadband information page on our website to learn more about the work presently being done to support increased connectivity.
