Province dishes out ‘important funding’ to help improve Simcoe North infrastructure

Government of Ontario

Eight Simcoe North municipalities are receiving a combined $4.1 million in provincial funding to help address infrastructure needs.

Simcoe North MPP Jill Dunlop was in Tiny Township on Feb. 5 to announce the funding, which is divvied out to municipalities annually via the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF).

“I am committed to supporting our local municipalities by creating jobs, attracting economic growth and investment, and making Simcoe North the best place to live and grow,” said Dunlop. “This investment into our municipalities will help build and repair roads, bridges, (and) water and wastewater infrastructure in our community.”

The dollars will be split up across the riding, with Orillia getting $1.7 million, Tay $509,013, Midland $456,470, Severn $349,575, Tiny $320,289, Oro-Medonte $274,539, Ramara $223,695 and Penetanguishene $208,447.[]
